Group of men alleged to be members of the Poro Society threatens the life of a paralyzed man, Foday Kallon of 60A Bai Bureh Road in Freetown, after beating him three (3) years ago, sometimes in December (2020) leaving him paralyzed.
According to the victim, he was physically assaulted in December 2020 for revealing information to his cousin, Lansana Kallon, whom they were on the verge of forcefully initiating him into the secret society to take his late father, Alusine Kallon's position in the secret society after his demise.
Due to the fact that Lansana would have possibly lost his life during the process, Mr. Foday Kallon, who was a member of the Poro Society revealed to Lansana about the society's plans and told him to hide himself from the scene, hence Foday was brutally attacked by the Poro Society men and left paralyzed.
Despite reporting the assault to the Sierra Leone Police, Mr. Foday Kallon claims that the authorities failed to adequately investigate due to the secretive nature of the society.

Lansana Kallon, a young man at the center of a mysterious ordeal involving the secretive "Poro Society" in Sierra Leone, remains at large after evading an alleged attack by members of the society.
However, it has been revealed that Lansana went seeking asylum in Cyprus but was allegedly denied refuge.
In December 2023, Mr. Foday Kallon has again received fresh life threat from the Poro Society men after an interview with a journalist, who recently knew about the incident and grew interest over it.
Amidst his paralyzed condition, the Poro Society men are still threatening Foday Kallon for having an interview with the journalist, also claiming that he is revealing information to his cousin, Lansana.
Foday Kallon's life is currently at risk as the Poro men have allegedly promised dealing with him for the interview he had with the journalist, where he explained everything that transpired between them since December 2020.
Foday Kallon, once a very strong and energetic man only seats in the wheelchair to his bed as he can't work any longer.
The incident began when Lansana at the age of 15 was forcefully initiated into the society against the wishes of his mother, Aminata Kallon, by his father, Alusine Kallon, in 2020.

Aminata, vehemently against the initiation of his child into the Poro Society, was away when her son was initiated. Upon her return, she discovered her husband had taken Lansana for the initiation without her consent. Alusine's failure to return Lansana home led to a confrontation between the couple, resulting in a tragic altercation that led to Aminata's untimely demise.
Lansana was at the "Poro Society" bush when he received information about the death of his mother, Aminata Kallon. This brought a bitter memory into his mind.
Lansana, who was away during his mother's passing, returned to bury his father only to face renewed threats of re-initiation into the society. Fearing for his safety, Lansana fled and has been in hiding since.
